Horrible
Never again kept my equipment for a month just to get an outrageous repair estimate. If I could give them less than one star I wouldHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ralph P.Staten Island, NY02Jul 19, 2022
This business is most definitely NOT customer oriented. They do not honor warranty as full payment and charged me an additional $210. for the "gap" between their charge and the manufacturer's allowed warranty reimbursement to them. On top of which, the repair was shoddy at best and my machine was still malfunctioning after they kept it for 7 weeks with all sorts of excuses for the delay. Absolutely no compensation of any kind was offered and although the employee was cordial, there was "nothing he could do". I am working with the manufacturer, DR, to try to reach some kind of resolution. If you value your sanity, do not shop here or use their repair services. This is the first time I had a problem here and you can bet it is the last time.

I'm not surprised to see the one star reviews on here calling out how rude employees at this store can be. My siblings and I bought my father a lawn mower for Christmas. He didn't open it until recently and noticed the fuse key was missing. He drove the store and asked about getting a new one and was met with an attitude. They told him they would call when the key was in but ten days later, he still hadn't heard anything. So I reached out via email because I had been emailing with someone from the store when I placed my order. The only response I got was "It's here". No "Sorry for the wait", no "Thank you for your patronage". They acted like were inconveniencing them by simply asking for what we paid for. Never again.

Always rude and arrogant. Unfortunately only place of its kind on Staten Island. Ordered a part over a week ago and was in the area to check if it was in. The owner directed me to ask a woman working on parts. She started cursing saying who told you to ask me?, it's not mr f***in job and some other rude things. Many employees have been this way for years with rude and demeaning comments. From now on I'll pay the toll and go to NJ. I am also going to try and cancel the part as I don't want it anymore!

Broke my dads snow blower we had been using for about ten years so I dropped it off for service. Decided it's time to get my own and purchase a new machine cause I had some work to finish and my first machine wouldn't repaired for a while. Supper excited put the machine straight to work didn't last long had a little white smoke coming from the case I thought it could be normal but just to be safe wouldn't push it and just take it back for an inspection just to be safe by the time I loaded it on the truck I noticed a little oil dripping and knew I made the right call to stop using the machine.
Here's where an amazing neighborhood store shines don't go to big box stores cause if I had I probably would have had the deal with the manufacturer for warranty work and eventually get a factory lemon back always wondering if we get a few mild winters then get hit hard just after the warranty has expired. They took back the machine inspected it and gave me a brand new one same day! They fully assemble all equipment purchases from them so it's ready to use and have all the options you need for the life of the equipment they will sell you parts service or new machines plus they definitely stand behind the brands they carry. I always came here for lawn mower repair and other equipment but after this experience I don't think I'll ever look to take my business anywhere else even if I could score something a little cheaper online it's not worth the savings support your local businesses the knowledge and service provided is pricelessHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Frank M.San Francisco, CA02Oct 19, 2021

Very overpriced and arrogant! I have taken equipment to them in the past, never again. They are basically the only game on Staten Island but I will go to jersey from now on.

Your classic mom and pop neighborhood guy. Nice people who actually want to assist you. Every question answered everything done the it should be and used to be. A genuine good find in an otherwise world of people who are too busy to answer a simple question. Better off buying and dealing with an item here than at a bog box store.

I've been taking my lawn and garden machines to Trimalawn for some years now and I have not for some time encountered the cranky staff described in the reviews here and on Google. I've also bought a bunch of stuff there. Their mechanics are skilled and the folks that interact with the public are knowledgeable and polite. All in all, a valuable asset to the Staten Island community although admittedly the only lawn equipment place out here.

Called Trimalawn to see if they had a certain snow blower in stock, spoke an employee named James. He said he had one in stock and stated delivery was free so long as it was delivered in Staten Island. Went down to shop, paid for it, gave them delivery address and left. Got home and realized they charged me $50 for delivery. Called shop to lodge complaint of delivery charge and was told by an abrupt woman that James is not the boss and if the boss wanted to charge me a delivery fee then so be it. Wonderful customer relation skills......
