Sofia's Taqueria

This is our 3rd visit to Sofia's Taqueria and it has sealed its place as a top dining destination.
Bar tender Eric is truly a professional and has excellent customer service down to a science.
We sat at the bar (which I never do) because the restaurant was full. He took our drink and food orders and the food came out fast, fresh and hot.
Our drinks were the coconut mojito and mango margarita. Then someone cancelled an order for a strawberry mango margarita so we added it to our order and it was delicious; so now I have a favorite drink here :)
Dinner was excellent, we had the shrimp and corn empanadas and the crab empanadas as the appetizer. For the main my husband had the chicken fajitas and I had the shrimp tacos. We also had guacamole and chips. Everything was perfect.
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you plan on coming on the weekend.

If you like Americanized Mexican food then this is place for you. They use American cheese and smother everything with cream or sauce. I can't taste anything past the mayonnaise and the cream. I do not recommend.

The Guac is slightly better but it had pieces of overly ripe (almost rotten) avocados.

Their cabbage slaw is also American made with mayonnaise instead of a vinegar base.

Service was great.

Friendly staff and love the environment, but the empanadas and salad was lowkey oily. It was heavy on the palate but very filling. Portions are worth the money, but i would stick to snacks and maybe their burrito?? Cause salad was eh the chorizo is overly salty and hard i would wanna try their other salads maybe.

Love the bathroom tho and tacos were filled!

I've ordered from this establishment numerous times thru DoorDash and the food is quite good. I highly recommend the empanada's. They are always made fresh & the chicken flautas. I don't live that far from the restaurant and I'm surprised I haven't ventured to go in person but I will soon. I have yet to be disappointed.

Wanted to try this place for a while and so disappointed I haven't been here earlier! Everything we ordered was fantastic, including the guacamole and chicken flautas, but my life was changed after having the Carne Asada tacos. There should be a warning on the menu about how fantastic these are! I'm a huge fan of Los Tacos No. 1 in the city and I have to say: I believe these are even better! Will be back again and again- don't be like me and sleep on these tacos. You have to try them!

Sofias is just an amazing local buisness that has the best deals!! They have happy hours! And weekly specials too!! Their staff is simple amazing and the overall vibe and ambiance is just incredible!!!

I dined here yesterday for the third time.
I love the Mexican decor. It makes me feel like I am on vacation somewhere. I really like the 2nd floor-it's more spacious. Service is exceptional. My water glass was never empty and the waiter made an excellent recommendation when I told him my dietary restrictions. They have many different types of guacamole and I had the corn guacamole and I really liked that it was spicy and authentic. The cactus beverage actually came in a cactus glass so that was really neat! Wish I could take it home. I really love this place.

Great place! Went for brunch. Had the blackened chicken tacos, hubby had the bacon egg and cheese empanadas. Drinks were flowing. I had the Michelina, mango Bellini and the cucumber spicy Bloody Mary - all were great but my favorite is the Bellini. Would definitely come again.

Had a fun time! Sat at the bar..enjoyed wine and mojitos with happy hour tacos and empanadas..food was good..Sheridan was bartending..tried hard and was very nice..even though it was early (4pm) it was loud..but colorful! Will go back!

What an amazing happy hour deal at Sofia's Taqueria.
I started off with the spicy mango sangria and my friend ordered the raspberry mango margarita. The spicy mango was not spicy but pretty strong in flavor. We took advantage of the happy hour deal and each ordered a fish taco and carnita tacos. We also ordered a shrimp and beef empanada. The tacos were not mini at all; it's filled with delicious filling. The carnita is definitely one of the best I had because it came with chicharron. The empanadas were interesting and light. It was like it was wrapped in a puff pastry. Definitely would recommend coming back for their happy hour deal!
