One of the best bakeries in Staten Island ! Fantastic cakes, pies and cookies and pastries. Their ring pastries are beyond great! The coconut rings are a hot hit. Get there early or they're out very soon! Ladies behind the counter are always smiling, they're quick and proficient. Definitely Give them a try when you're in the neighborhood!

My uncle has a sweet tooth. Thus, I'm always excited to see him at family reunion dinners. He introduces me to bakeries that I have never been to.

Last weekend, he came over with two big boxes from CakeChef Bakery. He brought Pecan Danish Ring and Apple Horseshoe.

All of my family members enjoyed those baked goods. The size was sufficient to feed 12 of us.

I would love to try their other pastries.

Ridiculously awesome rings and shoes!

The coconut custard and apple rings are the best items on the menu. Both versions are stuffed and the fillings are delicious. It does straddle the line on being just a little too sweet I'm told but for my taste, I don't mind my sweets being too sweet and think it is perfect. I would definitely find myself dropping by for these anytime especially the apple. One of these would definitely feed 10 or more people.

The Red Velvet is pretty good as well but not exactly my favorite. I do prefer a moist cake but in this case, perhaps it is just a little too moist and crumbles a little too much in my opinion. I'm no expert baker but maybe there is a little too much shortening or oil in the cake base. A little less might lead to a cake with a little more structure and body in my opinion would be ideal.

Regardless of your preferences, the prices can't be beat in this day in age. For what you pay, the value is the best for any bakery in the city for sure.

In addition to their danishes and Italian cheesecakes, I would strongly suggest their raspberry jam, chocolate covered cookies and their lemon curd as well. Delicious, not overly sweet and great ratio of jam to cookie to chocolate.

I called a week before needing a cake asking if they could assist in making a custom cake for me. After talking on the phone and sending in my inspiration pictures through email I was set. I was able to drop off the deposit for the cake a few days after. On the day of picking up my cake there was one small error with the writing that was easily fixable and fixed within a few minutes while I waited on premises. I don't blame them, I had a few different requests and it could be easily misunderstood.

Overall the cake was beautiful. It turned out exactly how I wanted and pictured, we even gave the cake its own photoshoot! It was also a lot taller than I expected! I didnt know it would be a double decker and that was a very pleasant surprise. The cake tasted good; we got chocolate cake with chocolate filling and strawberries. It was nothing too memorable or flavorful but overall a good dessert. Next time I might inquire more about flavors and fillings to decide what I prefer.

Only downside is that they are cash only, but not worth lowering their score for... I'm really happy with the experience.

Also worth a mention their cookie with 3 jams reminds me of a cookie I adored as a child and it was the first time I tasted something similar to it in 20 years, It was amazing. Id make the drive for the cookie alone.

Cake chef bakery is excellent anytime we go there. We are never disappointed with anything we get.
I highly recommend it. All of the danish rings are amazing melts in your mouth. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Delicious cakes and pastries. On my visit I picked up a pound cake , a vanilla custard cake , and Angel wings .
The prices are great , but Cash only .
I was happy they sold candles for the cake which was very convenient. The cake was not too sweet which is just the way I like it .

This bakery is one of the best and the New York area. Everything is fresh and well-made. They have all the Italian dessert, specialties, and especially the cookies. You will not be disappointed with the service and selection.

I have been coming to Cake chef bakery for quite a long time. I have really nothing bad to say and I enjoy most of their cakes. I recently tried the coconut custard and I really enjoyed every bite. Mmmmmm
I strongly recommend this place. The strawberry short cake, and there's another cake that is so good which I forgot the name of it, but inside there's strawberries and bananas .. omg that's amazing. Yumm
